This screenshot showcases my 2nd suite of skins titled Myriad Base. The finished skins can be found here or check out the Showcase on DeviantArt. Myriad Base is similar to my previous suite Myriad, which was featured on Lifehacker.

I was inspired to make an even more minimal set of skins discovering base by jg-visuals. I had already made the transition over to Windows 7, so decided to attempt to port base to Win7. It was the first time I’ve ventured into the VS realm, and the first time I’ve released icons of any sort, so it was a step up from creating the odd skin or two.

Behind the Scenes – other little apps I have running in the background.
Hoekey // mapped winkey + (letter) to launch all my favourite little apps (skincalc, colorpad, codepad, notepad2, shutoff)
Desktop Media // creates a shortcut on the desktop whenever a USB drive / cd is inserted.
Magic Mail Monitor // checks my mail accounts
Wakoopa // tracks application usage
Resource hacker // couldn’t live without this program for changing icons and things
